I have always been crazy about kids. I have a kind of radar that seems to put them at ease and helps me understand their needs and feelings. When a child enters the room, it is as if someone turned on the sun for me. I am so blessed to have a career using my artist's eye and my heart for children.

I started my photography career in San Diego, California in 1982 after many years pursuing photography as an art. My business has always been out of my home because I love the commute (upstairs to downstairs). And clients seem very comfortable coming to my historical neighborhood and my charming 1911 bungalow. For children it feels like "Aunt Luci's House".

the creation process

Because each portrait is custom designed, I meet with you to show you previous work and chat about your family life, decorating style and where you will display the portraits. After visioning together we decide on the choices of black and white and color film and select the location (studio, your home or outdoors). The best time of day, clothing and any special props are determined. This way on the day of the session, I know just what to set up and you know just what to bring. The creation fee and minimum deposit are due at this time to reserve your date. You are my only portrait client on the day of the session so that all of my abundant creativity and energy is available to you. It is always fun, sometimes intense and I guarantee you will love the results.

The selection process is a memorable and entertaining projection presentation of at least 50 to 100 beautiful images. Together we select your favorite images in the perfect compositions and sizes for your home as well as any gifts or collections. Your deposit on the entire order continues the process of creating the finished portraits. And then to complete the design process, I offer the most beautiful custom designed and hand built, museum quality frames.
